Julia Urbina
Chemist I
Julia attended Alfred State College, where she majored in Forensic Science Technology. Her education provided her with a strong foundation in Chemistry, where she gained hands-on experience with laboratory instruments such as GCMS, FTIR, HPLC, and UV-Vis. Her first position after college helped her develop excellent documentation skills and a solid understanding of good laboratory practices. Before joining Safetec, Julia worked at IEH Laboratories, and she looks forward to continuing to build on her skills in her role at Safetec.
Outside of work, Julia enjoys walking and hiking with her dog, Astro, as well as reading, practicing yoga, and traveling with her husband. A couple of fun facts: her favorite childhood hobby was surfing, and she currently cares for nearly 20 houseplants!
Julia was drawn to Safetec through a recommendation and was excited to join a growing company where she could continue learning and expand her laboratory skills.
