Safetec adds third East Side site as business soars
Safetec of America has acquired a third East Side site to accommodate its soaring business.
The developer and manufacturer of infection control products has seen demand increase significantly since the Covid-19 pandemic struck the United States. The company has added 50 jobs in the last half-year and plans to create between 10 and 20 new positions in the rest of 2020.
The 66,712-square-foot facility off William Street is a former U.S. Post Office. It is on six acres of land. It will host additional warehouse space and new Safetec equipment, the company said in an announcement. Safetec said it is investing $7 million into the property.
Demand for Safetec surface disinfectant wipes, sprays, hand sanitizers, hand wipes, and antimicrobial soap has been surging for months now, the company said. In response, Safetec sought a new home for finished goods and raw materials.
Safetec, owned by CEO Scott Weinstein, has two factories on Kensington Avenue in Buffalo.
