What’s On Your Device?
In today’s age, it is nearly impossible to go a couple of minutes without coming into contact with some electronic device. Items range from cell phones, tablets, computers, televisions, remote controls, or even your car. One of the most common ways for germs to spread is through these devices. The microscopic life forms can be harmless, but of course, the ones we want to prevent from spreading are the harmful ones.
Bacteria can grow on anything. It is found that the bacterium, which grows within kitchen sponges, is also located on household electronics. The crumbs that fall off of what you are eating are also a hospitable environment for bacteria to grow. That means the bits that are within your keyboard are growing bacteria and spreading by the second.
A study conducted by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine showed fecal matter on one of every six phones. To make things worse, Charles Gerba of the University of Arizona stated that our keyboards and computer mouses are five times filthier than a toilet seat. We’re not done yet. A British study was conducted on the bacteria that can cause staph infections. It found 600 units of this bacterium on a tablet compared to 20 units on a toilet seat.
Those statistics causes us to wonder how clean our own devices are. Experts suggest doing a cleaning of all of your devices at least once a week. With Safetec’s new Device Wipe, this can be made very easy. The Device Wipe is pre-moistened to remove dirt, grime, smudges, and fingerprints safely. Not only can it be used on glass, but also on plastic and any touchscreen surface.
