Protect Yourself, Protect Your Family

Everyone Needs a Flu Vaccine

That’s right, if you (or your loved ones) are 6 months or older, a flu shot is needed. There are so many quick excuses not to get a flu shot. But you can be in and out of your local pharmacy in like 10 minutes. Even better; if your office offers flu shots you can get one between breaks!

Have you ever gotten the flu before? If so, think about how many days of work, school or fun outings that you had to miss because you were so sick. Then think about how contagious the flu virus really is. Once you were sick – did you spread the virus to your significant other or a friend. The flu virus is not something you want to share to those around you.

When is the right time to get vaccinated?

The CDC recommends that people get vaccinated by the end of October. If you have a child and this is their first time getting the vaccine (and they are over 6 months; but younger than 8 years old)– they may need two doses, so you should start the vaccination process sooner. If your child falls in the category of needing two vaccines, they should receive the second shot about 4 weeks after the first.

This flu season, take our advice and protect yourself and your family. Go out and get your flu shot and you won’t miss out on work, school and other fun functions this year because of the flu.

Did you know? That anyone even young, healthy adults can get sick from the flu and spread it to others. Buzz buzz (text message: You coming out tonight? I can't I have the flu. My niece and girlfriend have it now too.) The short time it will take you to get a flu vaccine. Can help protect you and the ones you love. The flu vaccine is safe and does not cause the flu. #GetAFluVax
