What Is Red Z® Used for?

Red Z® Solidifier is one of our highest selling items and what actually put Safetec on the map in the late 1980’s. You see, in this time period, the AIDS Epidemic was nearing its peak and something had to be done. That is where Safetec entered the picture with Red Z®.

It was used to help prevent infection during the AIDS epidemic. It was used to help reduce the risks from improper spill cleanup by relying on the solidifying agent to do most of the hard work for you. The transmission of AIDS can happen via the transmission of bodily fluids. These fluids can include: blood, semen, pre-seminal fluids, rectal fluids, vaginal fluids, and breast milk. HIV is primarily spread through sex or sharing injection drug equipment with someone that has HIV.

What is Red Z® used for primarily now?

It can be used anywhere where there are people, blood and body fluid spills may occur. We have buyers that are in the Healthcare facilities, research centers, dentists/orthodontists, mortuaries, autopsy centers, testing laboratories, blood banks, collection services, nursing homes, tattoo parlors, correctional facilities, police/fire departments and etc. In each industry they use it in several different ways, but with one goal. To keep everyone safe from infection.

Here at Safetec we have a variety of options to purchase our Red Z® product line. We have bottles, pour in pouches, and even drop-in pacs. Each contains fast acting, superabsorbent polymers and will eliminate splashing and aerosolizing. Red Z® also helps comply with DOT regulations.
